The Yorkshire businesses that were ravaged by a fire that injured two and snarled traffic on Centreville Road twice on Friday, are still open and serving customers, the owners told Insidenova this week. The building that houses Byrd’s Tractor and A-1 Glass on Centreville Road near the Fairfax County line caught fire Friday morning, apparently after an oil tank explosion.

The world’s largest maker of automotive sunroofs and convertibles want you to know something about their product: They don’t leak. Oh, Webasto Roof Systems, which supplies about half of all the sunroofs found in today’s cars and trucks, acknowledges a problem in the past, but insists there is none now. The company took issue with Drive On’s report on panoramic sunroofs earlier this week, in which we noted how the roof openings have a “reputation” for leaks.

Allstate’s announcement this week that it is changing the amount it will pay for dealer glass parts has led to an uproar in the industry. The country’s largest publicly held personal lines insurer says it will reimburse 90 percent of the dealer list price. For dealer purchased (usually OE) glass, Allstate further stated that this rule does not authorize shops to collect or require any additional amount from Allstate policyholders, other than the insured’s deductible.
