Boyd Group Income Fund Reports 31.7 Percent First-Quarter Increase in Sales

The Boyd Group Income Fund, which owns Boyd Autobody and Glass, Gerber Collision and Glass and Gerber National Glass Services, has reported that its sales increased by 31.7 percent to $107.4 million for the first quarter of 2012, compared with $81.6 million in the first quarter of 2011.

Pilkington to Lay off 57 Employees from Ottawa, Ill., Plant

China Allows Foreigners Full Access to Auto Insurance Market

China has given foreign insurers full access to its US$32 billion (S$40 billion) auto insurance market, allowing them from this month into a segment of the business that was earlier reserved for domestic players in the world’s biggest automobile market.

National Windscreens Appointed as Primary Supplier to Lex Autolease

Lex Autolease has awarded the majority of its windscreen repair and replacement business to National Windscreens. The three year contract commenced on January 1, 2012 for the repair and replacement of automotive glazing on all vehicle types, in a fleet that includes cars and vans.

Vehicle travel on the nation’s roadways continued a downhill slide in April 2011. Travel decreased by 2.6 percent for the month, when compared with April 2010—down from 256.6 billion miles to 250.5 billion miles, according to the latest report from the Federal Highway Administration (FHA), a division of the U.S.

National Vehicle Travel Down for Month of March 2011; Western Region Sees 2.6 Percent Drop

As gas prices rose this spring, it seems vehicle travel dropped slightly, according to the latest report from the Federal Highway Administration (FHA), a division of the U.S. Department of Transportation. The government agency reports a 1.4 percent decrease in the number of miles driven across the nation’s roadways for the month of March—compared with the same month in 2010.
