Glass America and Guardian Auto Glass in Legal Battle Over Non-Competition Agreement

A lawsuit has been filed by a former Guardian Auto Glass employee who signed a non-competition agreement with the company before accepting employment with Glass America. Robert Staples signed an “Invention, Disclosure, Confidentiality and Non-Competition Agreement” with Guardian Auto Glass in November of 2010.

Guardian Automotive Latest Company to Add Windshield Recycling

Guardian Automotive is the latest company in the auto glass industry to recycle windshields. Customers of four of the company’s distribution centers can return broken windshields to Guardian to be recycled.

Croskey Named Chairman of Guardian’s Board of Directors

Charles (Chuck) Croskey has been named chairman of Guardian Industries’ board of directors. Croskey has been on the board since 2010 and with the company since 1970.

Industry Veteran Neil Smith Passes Away

Industry veteran Neil Smith of Portland, Ore., passed away on June 17 at the age of 66. Though Smith held a variety of positions during his 40-year glass industry career, he most recently served as a managing partner in LRST LLC, which was created in 2010 and had formed a joint venture, Guardian Auto Glass LLC, in September 2010 with Guardian Industries.

Ebeid to Retire from Guardian This Year

Guardian Industries has confirmed that Russ Ebeid, president of Guardian Glass Group, will retire this September. Guardian has plans to announce a successor very soon.
