A Connecticut amendment to an auto glass-related bill has passed the House of Representatives and is currently in the Senate awaiting the floor. The amendment adds language to bill 5231 that must be read by insurance companies and third-party administrators (TPA) to customers advising them of their right to choose their auto glass shop. The amendment also makes it illegal for the insurance company or TPA to provide the customer with the name of or direct the customer to a glass shop that is owned by the claims administrator or the same parent company that owns the insurance company or TPA.
