A hearing was held earlier this week in a case filed by a New York auto glass shop owner who is representing himself in a suit he filed against 14 insurers and two third-party administrators. David Harner, owner of Auto Glass of Westchester Windshield Doctor, filed the suit in April and alleges those involved have committed breach of contract, fraud, unfair claims settlement practices, restraint of trade, anti-trust, and coercion, among other charges, through their alleged actions in dealing with his business and his customers.

A breach of contract claim made against Hanover Insurance in a federal lawsuit has been dropped by the New York auto glass shop owner who filed the suit. David Harner of Auto Glass of Westchester Windshield Doctor filed the suit against Hanover and 13 other insurers, along with two third-party administrators and their owners, in April, alleging breach of contract, fraud, unfair claims settlement practices, restraint of trade, anti-trust, and coercion, among other charges.

A 1993 Ford Explorer was involved in a single-car crash in which the windshield allegedly separated from the vehicle on July 11 in Mt. Pleasant, Mich.

David Harner, owner of Auto Glass of Westchester Windshield Doctor, has filed a suit against 14 different insurers, along with two third-party glass claims administrators (TPAs) and their owners alleging breach of contract, fraud, unfair claims settlement practices, restraint of trade, anti-trust, and coercion, among other charges.

A Utah windshield repair shop owner pled not guilty this week to nine counts of identity fraud and fraudulent insurance acts. The Utah attorney general brought the charges against Cody DeWayne Jacobsen in April for “fraudulently obtaining windshield repair authorizations under his clients’ insurance policies.”
